More than $95 Million Available

The Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation seeks to increase student interest and involvement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on, sustainable and affordable curriculum-based robotics engineering programs.

We are excited to work with more than 80 universities, colleges, and organizations who offer scholarship opportunities to students who compete in our programs. The REC Foundation encourages every student to continue their education and pursue careers in STEM related fields.

Three scholarships valued at $1,500 each. There is no special form or application process for first-year students. Your MSU application information will be used to determine scholarship eligibility. Please be sure to include your participation in the VEX robotics program on your application. Scholarships are typically awarded during the first two weeks of April.
Michigan Technological University is pleased to recognize exceptional incoming first-year students pursuing any major who have actively competed on a FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST Tech Challenge team, or in VEX Robotics during their high school career. This scholarship may be used to study engineering at any accredited technical college or university in the United States. The goal of this scholarship is to bring an awareness of fluid power options in robotics to high school students and to stimulate increased use of fluid power products in these competitions.
The REC Foundation is proud to partner with The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) in support of robotics programs for students in the United States.
